The Scolari Wool Mill
So, Tampa and I've been processing wool since Monday morning. We're on our fourth fleece as I write this post. It is very hard work yet at the same time very satisfying. To know that what we'll be wearing, cloaks for our Mission costumes, socks to keep our feet warm, blanket, etc. will come from the wool that Tampa and I have worked so hard processing. This is our first time doing this and I think we've started a nice Spring tradition. Maybe next year we'll just do two white fleece because I think we'll have more than enough shaded wool to last us a long time. I thought it would be easier if I just loaded the pics to my web album. By the way, I was in the newspaper. They spelled my name wrong. Grrrr... http://gallery.pictopia.com/santamaria/gallery/81314/photo/8024395/?o=90

Thank you for sharing this, Annemarie, I really enjoyed taking a look at your wool processing. It certainly can be quite icky and lots of hard work although I do love the smell of raw fleece! Have fun with your wool.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite messy! It looks like sheep blew up in our atrium and our living room. It's pretty crazy around here! :O)
